2023 - A look back on our accomplishments
It’s not always easy to find a moment to look back and reflect.
In a busy world with competing demands on our time, we tend to move and think in a forward direction as our default. December though, is a good time to pause and look back at the year.
And what a year 2023 was for Fluff Software and our clients.
We’ve flicked back through the calendar to bring you some of the highlights.
Q1: January - March
We started the year with an important appointment to the Fluff team. Rob Sanders joined us as Chief Technical Officer (CTO) bringing with him a wealth of experience from organisations including Capital One and Falmouth University alongside his own entrepreneurial wisdom.
Later in this first part of the year, the seed for what was to become an integral part of the #Fluff2023 story was planted. The idea for our own app, to engage children and families with the world around them, was sown.
Q2: April - June
April was spent largely bringing this idea, named Huntly, to life. We all had a passion for the app and its potential across a range of sectors.
As part of our testing, we took Peyton, our Founder Scott’s six year old son (and the inspiration behind Huntly!), to the National Trust property, Buscot Park,to complete the first Huntly quest.
With Peyton’s quest complete, we reached out to more testers and within a short amount of time Huntly was officially launched on the App Store and Google Play,with CEO Scott Gulliver invited by the BBC to discuss the project and its real-world applications.
Q3: July - September
In July we hit the milestone of 1,500 downloads reached as Huntly began to gather momentum. We also completed a collaborative project with Fairwood Lakes in Wiltshire who, impressed by the capabilities and potential of Huntly, wanted to create their own quest for the holiday park.
The quest launched in September, and Fairwood Lakes is now able to offer this free on-site activity to keep little ones exploring and having fun, whilst encouraging family bonding and exercise.
September also saw important new additions to the Fluff team: Tabby Gulliver, Head of Delivery; Gabriel Larkin, Lead Developer; and Iggy Mutizwa, Senior Developer.
Q4: October - December
We’ve still got the best part of a month to go in 2023 but Q4 has been huge for us. With several big projects in the pipeline for new and existing clients, the team has been working at full stretch to provide the very best service, advice and software solutions to our customers.
In October, Scott Gulliver was recognised at The Swindon & Wiltshire Techies for his outstanding contribution to the sector. Fluff was also shortlisted as a finalist in the Tech Team of the Year and Best User Experience categories.
In November, Kuda Nyengera joined Fluff as a Senior Developer, taking the team to six in total.
Which brings us nicely up to date in December. It has been a whirlwind year for us and with a dedicated, passionate and skilled team in place, we’re sure that2024 is going to be one to remember for Fluff Software and we have some exciting new collaborations with Huntly planned too. Watch this space for updates!
